NordLayer set to release a new security-focused browser for the enterprise

NordLayer (the company behind NordVPN) is set to release a new web browser geared specifically for enterprise businesses. The key focus of NordLayer’s new browser will be:
- Enhanced security measures and more control
- A combination of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Secure Web Gateway (SWG) for a unified solution
- Data loss prevention
- Support for business growth
Security is essential for businesses to remain productive. Without a solid security solution, from the top down, a company is at risk every day it’s open or employees are working.

That’s why browser developers focus a lot of bandwidth on securing their products. Without a high level of security, a browser is worse than useless in this age of constant cyber threats.
According to Donatas Tamelis, managing director at NordLayer, “Over the past two years, we’ve already made strides in the browser security space with the launch of our browser extension. As enterprises increasingly depend on web applications, it’s clear that the browser has become a critical gateway — essential not just for productivity but also as a frontline for security.”
Tamelis added, “With the introduction of a full-fledged enterprise browser, CISOs and security teams will be able to control security settings in the browser, manage network access and segmentation, and observe users’ activity without interrupting them.”
The new browser will help companies combat current and emerging cybersecurity challenges developing from trends such as the shift to a web-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) application environment. It will also address the risks associated with the continued adoption of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) policies, phishing attacks, malware infiltration, unauthorized data sharing, and dangerous file transfer vulnerabilities. At the same time, the new browser will offer centralized security control of CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers) and security teams.

Nordlayer’s browser has yet to become available, but you can sign up for the waitlist to stay informed. There is no indication as to what the browser will cost (or if there is an associated cost).
